This old ruin is situated on a large old dune. The position allows it splendid views as it looks over Lunan Bay Beach in Angus.

On the walk to Sandwood Bay Sutherland |
| |
This is one of a pair of paintings that was painted on a long 10 mile walk over remote hills with no access by car.
Luckily, it was a very fresh dry day as there was no shelter from the rain as I walked over the land owned and run by the John Muir Trust. This area offers the most spectacular views on the Northern coast of Scotland as it looks over to the Orkney's on a clear day.

There were so many lochs on this walk over the remote hills of Sutherland to Sandwood Bay.
It was such a delight to be there and see the variety of views of which this is one of the many I enjoyed that fine dry day.
