Since leaving Carnoustie School in 1960 and graduating from the Duncan of Jordanstone in 1964 and then a summer Hospitalfield Summer school for Landscape Painting Liz Watson has been painting Scottish art. Over the years her work has been exhibited in many Galleries and Exhibitions in Angus and her art has been further recognised with two dedicated one woman exhibitions in Vienna and the other in Arbroath Library.
During her career Liz has travelled the world visiting many european countries and travelled as far as New Zealand, Australia and Tasmania, always painting as she travelled.
For over 40 years Liz has worked on commissioned art and now this work features in countries including Canada, America, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, the Falkland Islands and as far away as Australia, Tasmania and even New Zealand
Her roots are in Scotland and her love of the Scottish landscape are strongly reflected in her work. Scotland is home for Liz, being born at Haddo House and being brought up in the rural areas of Aberdeenshire, Kincardine and Angus.
Today Liz works less on commissioned art and spends much of her time travelling the coasts of Scotland looking at the differences from area to area and putting her mark on canvas with her acclaimed interpretation of each environment.
Please do not hesitate to contact Liz directly with any questions.
